Sign Language: Show me your hands!
First take a seat and watch a good story from a well-known children’s book in sign language. I bet you’ll be able to understand it! Even if you have never seen sign language before. All you need is your hands and your eyes. So just show up, and be yourself! Your parents are also welcome to join in the fun. Time will fly and before you know it, you’ll have learned at least 20 signs! What will be the coolest/funniest/most beautiful/weirdest sign? We’ll finish with a game: ‘Guess the sign’
At this workshop you will discover how much you can say with your hands and your face. Without saying one word out loud! At the end you will not leave empty-handed. Along with the signs you’ve learned, you’ll get a tiny sign-present.
Suitable for children aged 4 to 10. This workshop is given by Merel van Zuilen, research assistant at the Sign Language research group at the Centre for Language Studies, Radboud University.
